Pick Ups
CURBSIDE COLLECTION  

*Per Borough Ordinance, items are to be placed curbside AFTER 6:00 PM on the evening prior to the scheduled collection day. DO NOT put the following out until you have called the DPW to schedule a pick up: electronics/metal/appliances/branches.

WHITEGOODS, METAL & ELECTRONICS
Collected curbside every 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Collection MUST be scheduled with the DPW two days in advance by calling 201-967-8172. Residents may also bring these items to a BCUA event. 

Examples:  Electronics, computers, televisions, washing machines, dryers, stoves, refrigerators (door removed), humidifiers, water heaters, garbage disposals/compactors, lawnmowers, grills (propane tank removed), air conditioners, treadmills, metal items - bed frames, fencing and poles (without cement attached), swing sets and scrap metal.

BRANCHES  - 2 Options  DO NOT MIX BRANCHES WITH LEAVES

1.  Curbside - scheduled branch collection is on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of every month. Place in a sturdy container or tie and bundle.

Curbside Collection MUST be scheduled with the DPW two days in advance by calling 201-967-8172. DO NOT PLACE CURBSIDE UNTIL YOU HAVE CALLED AND ARE ON THE LIST. Failure to do so may result in a summons.

2. Loose branches may be brought to the Recycling Center

LEAVES - 2 Options

1.  Curbside Collection - October 15th thru December 31st. 
Residents may rake leaves to the curb line removing all brush, branches, yard waste and garbage. Leaves must be ten feet from catch basins pursuant to NJ Storm Water Regulations. 

2.  Bagging - Residents may also bag leaves in paper biodegradable bags and place curbside.

The Recycling Center accepts leaves.  Residents may bring leaves to the Recycling Center loose or in biodegradable paper bags M - S  7:30 AM-3:00 PM.

CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION
Curbside collection of Christmas trees will be the 2nd week of the month of January. *Please remove the following items from your Christmas trees before setting out for collection:  plastic bags, strings of lights, ornaments, tinsel, tree stands and nails.


GRASS / PLANT CLIPPINGS & VEGETATIVE WASTE 

Curbside Collection -  Collected Borough-wide EVERY Wednesday, April to October.  NO NEED TO CALL 
Place in paper bags or garbage cans - NO plastic bags.
Residents are encouraged to recycle grass clippings by leaving them on the lawn when mowing.
