Accepted Recycling Items
ACCEPTED ITEMS AT THE RECYCLING CENTER:

BATTERIES - Rechargeable batteries and car batteries.  The label on the battery will indicate if it is rechargeable.  Alkaline batteries are no longer considered hazardous waste and can be put into the trash.
 
TIRES - Car tires only.  Rims must be separated from the tire and recycled in a separate bin. No oversized tires are accepted.
 
WASTE OIL - See attendant at the Recycling Center to empty oil cans.
 
TEXTILES - Collection bins are located adjacent to the DPW/Recycling Center for clothing and textile donations.

IN ADDITION, RESIDENTS MAY ALSO BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS TO THE RECYLING CENTER.

♦ ELECTRONICS & COMPUTER EQUIPMENT
♦ NEWSPAPERS, PAPER & CARDBOARD (No Pizza Boxes)
♦ COMMINGLED (Bottles/cans/plastic

REMINDER:  The Borough does NOT accept plastic bags of any kind in recycling. Recyclables placed in plastic bags or containers that have plastic bags in them, WILL NOT BE PICKED UP. 

DO NOT place recycling in plastic bags or put plastic bags in recycling
DO return plastic bags to a grocery store


PLASTIC ITEMS
The ONLY plastic items accepted for recycling are those marked with the following symbols:

Place ALL other plastics in your REGULAR TRASH.

CARTON RECYCLING INFORMATION
Rinsed "gable" top cartons are now recyclable.  Please place in with your bottles, cans and #1, #2 and #5 plastics.

PIZZA BOXES
Pizza boxes are NOT recyclable - they go in the regular trash.
